“Room for Human Frailty”

Posted: October 3, 2011 in collage 2011

Work created for collaborative project of artist and poet Guido Vermeulen of Belgium, “The Book of Ann” (8″x10″).  Ann, a real person, is known to Guido Vermeulen; by artist-contributors, she can only be imagined.

With Ann, who is funny, lively, smart, and out-
spoken, you can still rest because of the rarely
visible but always sensed calm at the center of
her being that says:  “You can make mistakes.
You can say the wrong thing.  You can make a
fool of yourself.  You can trip and fall.  You can
lie and want forgiveness.  You can trip and fall.
You can drop things.  You can trip and fall.  You
can be tired of people.  You can trip and fall.
You can tell me a secret.  You can trip and fall.”
